Water system is up and running for the season. We will be monitoring the performance of the system using remote sensing. Should a leak develop, water delivery may have to be interrupted to perform repairs.
DIRECTIONS FOR SHUT DOWN AND START UP
Shut Down
To shut the valve off, turn the valve a 1/4 turn clockwise by holding the vise grip and turning it easily until it stops after a 90 degree turn. Do not over turn. Water or air will drain through the small weep hole on the valve. Don't be alarmed by the blast of water or air, this is part of the design. Once the valve is closed, open the hose bib in the valve box counterclockwise until it stops turning. This will ensure that both the water line and valve assembly are drained and prepared for winter. Keep the valve off and the hose bib open for the entire winter.
Start Up
To turn your system on, first close the hose bib by turning it clockwise until it stops turning. Then turn the valve a 1/4 turn counterclockwise or by holding the vise grip and turning it easily until it stops after a 90 degree turn. After this procedure, you can then turn on your house valve so that water runs through your cabin system.
